The Black Friday plugin deals aren't even officially underway just yet, and we have seen some of the most incredible deals come to surface this season.
With each day just getting better it can be hard to not try and pinch yourself to see if it's all real. And, if you're a Reason user, your Black Friday period just levelled up.
Recently Reason announced a collaboration with Waves where they're giving away Waves Berserk FREE for Black Friday.
Also while we're on topic, you can grab another Waves Black Friday Free plugin at this link.
Berzerk is hands down one of our favourite distortion plugins, and is fantastic for mangling sounds, and adding gnarly grit to your sound design. You can completely crush signals with this plugin, and it's absolutely perfect when used on a bus, to add a little layer of distortion on top.
It's been our go-to distortion plugin for a while now, using it on almost every sound in our free Redd Velvet Hyperpop Melody pack.
If you're looking to add some crunch to your sound, we'd highly recommend you purchase it anyway (even if you're not a Reason user), but if you have Reason, you literally have no reason to not add it to your collection.
Waves did actually offer this for free a couple years back, in 2019, and that's when we got it.
They always release a great plugin on Black Friday that's worth having in your collection, so yeah… just go sign up and get it.

How To Get Waves Berzerk Free
To get Waves Berzerk Free this Black November, is pretty simple. It's much like the free Waves plugin being released for Black Friday this year on the 26th of November.
All you have to do is head to this link, and sign up with your email.
After that, you'll have to sign into your Reason account to then grab your downloads and redemption code. Then redeem your code, and voila – you have a shiny, new, free distortion plugin to play around with!
What Is Waves Berzerk?
Berzerk is a stellar multi-mode distortion unit, that includes unique, morphing waveshapes, which can be modified using drive, density, and temperature controls.
On top of that Berzerk includes a great feedback section, where you can change the pitch or frequency, which can also accept a side chain input!
Imagine sidechaining your feedback to a signal that will constantly morph your distortion settings… ace!
It includes a number of Waveshapes, as we said above including:
- Buzzed
- Trippy
- Dizzy
- Frenzy
- Squashed
- Freaky
- Clipped
- Loomy
- Fuzzed
- Crushed
You use these to change the tone of your distortion, and playing with the density and drive knobs, you can get some really incredible results.
We'd recommend pushing the density, to max, and putting Berzerk on a bus.
The dynamics section offers you a gate, and options to expand the input, and change the gain, so you don't get an unholy amount of distortion.
On top of all that EQ is available for sculpting sounds, and there's also a stereo and mid/side operation. As a major bonus you also get a fun “Berzerk” button, which randomises your distortion settings.
